1992 Toyota Liteace 2C Diesel

Greetings from Saskatchewan, Canada!

I have a 1992 model Toyota Liteace. It has the non turbo 2C Diesel engine in it. 5 speed column shift, 4x4 high low, and currently 97,000km.

So, I am wondering if anyone has some info on these trucks for me? Last night I had the oil filter come loose. Currently has a Fram PH 6357 on it. Wondering if that is the right one even..

Also, feel free to comment on it

Hi, We have a lot of those here in Jamaica. Really good trucks. The only problems I've found with them are really service based. That Fram oil filter is supposedly the correct one for these units base on the cross reference catalog we have, but we prefer to use the genuine Toyota part #90915-30001. The main trouble with them is that when the thermostat fails most techs who are not familiar with these motors don't know that they are located in the coolant inlet housing below the injection pump. Because it, as I would say, in the "Guts" of the engine, it gets neglected and then the engine over heats, cracking the head, and that's really the only problem they have. Well, that and most owners here don't change the oil, causing lubrication related failures. I just got one of the Turbo versions of this engine for free and am using it in a project I'm about to begin, pushing the limits of this little engine to he how much power I can coax out of it.

ya i called toyota, guy was an A$$ to me... finally he looked them up, none in stock and 48-49$ each to order them in.

order from toyotapartsonline.com they come from toyota of dallas and i got oil filters for like 12 bucks to my door in canada along with fuel and air filters!!!
they have a sweet kick ass online parts catalogue too!

I SO WANT A Kei truck next.. does yours have a diff lock??

i ordered 2 filters, came to like 36 bucks with international shipping....

no, mine does not have diff lock, but it is an option. so was A/C, manual hubs and console shift lol.
